50 Cent’s Diddy Documentary Is AWOL—But Is G-Unit General Being Strategic?

50 Cent still hasn’t released his long-promised Diddy documentary, but sources suggest he’s waiting for a verdict to hit harder.

50 Cent fired the first cinematic warning shot in September 2024, when he announced a documentary targeting his longtime nemesis, Diddy. It was a move that instantly raised eyebrows and expectations. It also alerted others that this could be copied. But fast forward to mid-2025 and … nothing. The G-Unit mogul seems to be sitting on the sidelines. But, not so fast.

Why hasn’t 50 dropped his promised exposé on the embattled Bad Boy founder?

Turns out, this may not be a case of hesitation but rather strategy. According to sources not-so-close to the matter, 50 Cent may be playing the long game. Apparently, he let others prematurely burn through the headlines while he waits for the full legal saga to unfold. And if you’ve been paying attention, there’s a lot more unfolding.

Since Diddy’s name began surfacing in multiple lawsuits and federal investigations, streaming platforms have rushed to cash in. But many of those early projects were often light on facts and heavy on speculation. Many of them are flimsy in hindsight. A wave of initial allegations dominated the news cycle in 2024, but a lot of it was bogus or didn’t hold up. My source says the real weight and impact of the case against Diddy is on the way. Imagine telling the OJ Simpson story before the verdict.

That may be why 50 Cent is holding tight.

Netflix, for example, has built a reputation for handling real life tragedies with great storytelling and thorough research. Its recent Astroworld documentary on Travis Scott and the 2021 concert disaster was a deep dive. I watched it recently, and it offered emotional depth and legal clarity. There was a clock as people were dying, and it was jarring. If 50 and Netflix get together for this sort of saga, they will kill it.

Still, the game is crowded. Many of these people can circle the block and do more on Diddy. Trust.

There are still multiple alleged victims, civil suits and more potential criminal charges brewing. 50 Cent could be dropping this bad boy during the most damning stretch of Diddy’s career. Crazy. “There’s a lot more story to tell now than there was six months ago,” somebody said.

The prosecution rested on Tuesday (June 24). Now, speculation swirls like that tornado over the weekend. Will Diddy get time and HOW MUCH? Lawyers nearby estimate five years to a possible 20. WHEW.

One thing for sure, the title “Diddy Do It?” won’t work when it is all said and done.
