Trey Songz was caught on camera threatening a man during a heated exchange Tuesday night that nearly turned into a physical fight.
Trey Songz nearly escalated a tense face-off into a physical altercation Tuesday night (June 24) when a video surfaced showing the R&B singer exchanging heated words with an unidentified man in what appeared to be the tail end of a dispute.
In the short clip, the man turns to walk away and says, “I ain’t gonna shake your hand.”
Songz instantly fires back, “And you ain’t gone do s### either like I told you.”
The man then appears to call Songz “p####,” prompting the singer to step forward and respond, “I’ll beat the s### out of you right now.”
The footage cuts off as a man who appears to be a security guard steps in, leaving the outcome of the confrontation unclear.
The location of the incident has not been confirmed, and no further details have been released.
Trey Songz History Of Run-Ins With The Law
The “Bottoms Up” singer has a long history of legal run-ins and violent incidents.
In December 2016, he was arrested in Detroit after a concert meltdown that ended with felony assault charges for hitting a police officer and a misdemeanor for aggravated assault.
He later pleaded guilty to lesser charges and was sentenced to probation, drug testing and anger management classes.
In 2021, he was accused of assaulting a man in Las Vegas. A default judgment of $11.2 million was initially entered against Songz, but it was tossed in January 2025 after the court determined he wasn’t properly served.
That case is now headed to trial, with a jury date set for March 16, 2026.
In 2023, he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct after being accused of punching a woman in the face in a New York bowling alley bathroom.
The singer has also faced multiple sexual assault allegations over the years, including a $20 million rape lawsuit filed in Los Angeles. That case was dismissed in 2022 due to the statute of limitations.
While Songz has managed to avoid criminal convictions in several of these cases, the string of legal troubles has cast a long shadow over his career and public image.
