Aussie Rapper Threatens To Sue K-Pop Band—Calls Genre “Shit”

An Australian rapper who goes by Allday launched a trademark dispute and slammed K-pop last week after discovering a new South Korean group named ALLDAY PROJECT. He accuses them of infringing on his stage name and calls most of the genre “s###.”

Allday, born Tomas Henry Gaynor, posted a screenshot of a news article about the group on social media and made it clear he wasn’t amused.

“People keep asking me about this,” he wrote. “I have a trademark on the name Allday. Maybe I don’t have 20 billion streams like that kpop s### which mostly sucks by the way. But I do exist and own the trademark to my name. Prepare for the greatest legal battle of all time.”

According to The Music, Gaynor registered the name “Allday” as a trademark in Australia in June 2021. The filing reportedly covers music releases, vinyl, merchandise, live shows and related content. He also claimed the trademark extends to the United States, though that has not been independently verified.

Despite his harsh words, Allday appeared to soften his stance in a video posted Saturday (June 28), offering to drop the lawsuit if the label behind ALLDAY PROJECT lets him join the group.

“If I can be in the band, ALLDAY PROJECT, I will drop my lawsuit, which I’m definitely going to win, by the way,” he said.

He didn’t stop there, adding, “And that guy called Tarzzan has to be kicked out of the band. I want to be the main guy.”

The demand didn’t sit well with K-pop supporters, who quickly dismissed the legal threat as a publicity grab.

“Stealing your name? They don’t even know you! You just want clout because you saw their success. Stop being delusional. Grow up,” one user wrote on X, formerly Twitter, while another added, “Annie is a chaebol … have fun with that,” referencing the group’s standout member Annie Moon, heiress to South Korea’s Shinsegae retail empire.

ALLDAY PROJECT, a co-ed group under The Black Label, made its official debut June 23 with the single “Famous.” The lineup includes Annie Moon, Tarzzan, Bailey, Woochan and Youngseo.
