Beyoncé turned a near-disaster into a viral moment after a suspended car prop malfunctioned during her Houston show.
Beyoncé turned a mid-air mishap and a dangling red convertible into viral gold during her “Cowboy Carter” tour stop at NRG Stadium in Houston on Saturday (June 28), when a suspended prop car malfunctioned and nearly sent her tumbling.
The moment, which could’ve ended in disaster, was instead flipped into a hilarious Instagram reel the following night (Sunday, June 29).
Beyoncé poked fun at the incident with a montage of clips showing her awkwardly tilted sideways in the air. The video was set to Houston rapper Paul Wall’s “Sittin’ Sidewayz” featuring Big Pokey — a fitting soundtrack for the sideways spectacle.
The glitch happened during her performance of “16 Carriages,” when the red convertible prop that was supposed to glide her over the crowd began to tip at an alarming angle.
Beyoncé, ever composed, grabbed a cable and a flagpole for balance and calmly told the crew, “Stop. Stop, stop, stop, stop.”
The music cut out, and the car was slowly lowered back to the stage. No one was hurt, and the show resumed without further problems.
Once safely on the ground, Beyoncé reassured the crowd with a smile, saying, “If ever I fall, I know y’all will catch me.”
She later posted a photo on Instagram with a simple message: “I love you, Houston.”
The singer’s production company, Parkwood Entertainment, later confirmed the incident was caused by a “technical glitch.”
The next night, Beyoncé skipped “16 Carriages” from the setlist entirely, prompting playful complaints from concertgoers online.
“Why you put 16 Carriages on Punishment??? It was the car that was misbehaving not the song,” one Instagram user wrote.
“You know you coulda performed 16 carriages,” another chimed in. “That’s not right… but I still love you.”
