Candace Owens Responds To Lizzo With Music Video Offer

Candace Owens took a swing at Lizzo over a name-drop in the singer’s new track with Doja Cat but ended up offering to be in the music video.

During a recent episode of her podcast, the controversial conservative commentator reacted to Lizzo’s track “STILL CANT FUH” from her new EP MY FACE HURTS FROM SMILING, which includes a verse that name-checks Owens.

    However, Owens fumbled the details.

“Look, mommy, I made it,” Owens said sarcastically, misquoting the lyric aimed at her: “City girls up, boys on they period/

    Candace Owens somewhere p#####.”

Owens then veered into transphobic territory, saying, “I am not p##### about something that does not exist and can’t happen,” before circling back to Lizzo with a half-joking offer: “I think I should be in your music video looking p#####, though. So hit me up, Lizzo.”

She wrapped her rant with a backhanded compliment, saying, “I was wishing you well. I’m glad that you are getting into shape. You look happier, you look freer. So don’t be upset with me because I told you the truth when the whole world was trying to kind of pigeonhole you and make you just a fat girl. You didn’t have to do that. You had a talent and you were fun and the industry can be toxic in that way.”

But Owens got the lyrics wrong. Lizzo didn’t say “boys on they period,” she said “boys on they deriod”—a slang mashup of “dick” and “period,” used to poke fun at emotional men.

The actual line is: “Upsettin’ these b###### like Cookinwitkya/All these emotions, it’s not that serious/City girls up, boys on they deriod.”

Later in the song, Lizzo does mention Owens by name. “All these hoes know I’m they b####,” she raps. “Candace Owens somewhere p#####.”

The feud isn’t new. Owens has repeatedly criticized Lizzo’s body positivity messaging, calling it “problematic” and accusing the singer of promoting obesity.

At one point, Owens even bragged about being blocked by Lizzo on Twitter, calling it a badge of honor.

Meanwhile, Lizzo continues to promote the project, sharing snippets of the songs on Instagram.
