Elon Musk removed a bold accusation linking Donald Trump to Jeffrey Epstein after their public feud over federal subsidies and political policy intensified.
Elon Musk deleted a provocative accusation involving President Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein after tensions escalated between the two over federal subsidies and political policy.
The Tesla and SpaceX boss briefly posted a message on X, formerly Twitter, alleging President Trump’s name appears in sealed Epstein documents.
“Time to drop the really big bomb: @realdonaldtrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” Elon Musk wrote in the now-erased post. He followed up with, “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out,” before that message also vanished from his profile.
The deleted posts followed President Trump’s public criticism of Musk’s opposition to his proposed “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” and his threat to revoke Tesla’s access to federal subsidies. Musk’s posts appeared to be a direct response to that warning.
The back-and-forth adds another layer to the already strained relationship between the billionaire tech mogul and the former president.
While President Trump and Epstein were known to socialize in the 1990s, Trump has consistently denied any involvement in Epstein’s criminal activities.
CNN’s Dana Bash reported she spoke with Trump following the posts.
According to her, President Trump wasn’t furious but rather indifferent. “I’m not even thinking about Elon. He’s got a problem. The poor guy has got a problem,” Trump told her.
The posts were scrubbed from Elon Musk’s account by early Saturday (June 7).
