Megan Thee Stallion credited NBA star Klay Thompson with helping her embrace vulnerability and step into what she calls her “soft girl era” during a revealing interview on national television.
The Houston rapper sat down with Jennifer Hudson for a Halloween-themed episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show, where she opened up about how her relationship with the Dallas Mavericks guard has shifted her perspective on love and emotional openness.
“Right now, I’m in such a feminine era of my life,” Meg revealed. “I’m not saying I’m in a feminine era of my life because of a man. I’m saying, because I’ve been through so much, and I feel like I was always on the defense for a long time. And I [felt] like, Oh, my gosh, I got to fight for myself. I’m squaring up with everybody all the time.”
She added, “I am so sure of myself, and I’m so relaxed. I am very much a soft girl.”
After years of navigating public trauma, industry pressure and legal battles, Megan said Thompson has brought a new sense of calm into her life.
“I just feel like right now in life, I’m just a little bit more calm and relaxed and more zen and more accepting of love,” Megan added. “I’m receiving love way better than I ever have in life, which is probably why the man that I have now has came into my life, ’cause I was ready to have him. I’m still doing hot girl stuff. But I love him.”
The couple first confirmed their relationship in July 2025 at the Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala.
Since then, their romance has progressed quickly, especially after Thompson left the Golden State Warriors and relocated to Texas to join the Mavericks. Their connection has remained mostly private, but Megan’s recent comments suggest a deeper level of comfort and trust.
The shift in her personal life is already showing up in her music. Her latest track, “Lover Girl,” blends her trademark confidence with softer melodies and more emotionally open lyrics.
