    Queen Latifah Calls Out Pay Inequality For Black Actresses At NAACP Image Awards

    Queen Latifah paid tribute to Taraji P. Henson whereas internet hosting the NAACP Picture Awards, talking up about Black actresses experiencing pay inequality in Hollywood. Returning as host for the second consecutive 12 months, Queen Latifah gave Henson her flowers on the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium Saturday night time (March 16). She raised the topic whereas addressing the subject of inflation. 


    “You realize what’s not feeling inflation?” she requested. “Equal pay for Black actresses,” Henson replied from her seat within the auditorium. “Thanks, Taraji, for standing up for all of us,” she started earlier than asking all of the Black actresses within the room to get to their toes.  

    “Thanks a lot for working so exhausting and representing us,” she added, urging the ladies to stay standing because the viewers cheered wildly.  

    “All people else on this complete room rise up for all of us Black actresses who’ve been representing for us. Assist us. Be part of us,” she continued. “As a result of it’s you who stand subsequent to us day-after-day. We all know this and we need to say thanks.”

    Henson later received Excellent Supporting Actress In A Movement Image for her function in The Shade Purple. The film scooped a whopping 11 NAACP Picture Awards, together with Excellent Movement Image. 

    USHER additionally received large on the night time, snagging the Entertainer of the Yr award. He additionally was honored with the President’s Award “in recognition of particular achievement and distinguished public service.” 

    In the meantime, New Version was inducted into the NAACP Picture Awards Corridor of Fame.
