Kevin Hunter launched a $250 million lawsuit targeting the court-appointed guardian of Wendy Williams, the judge overseeing her case, and dozens of others, accusing them of violating her constitutional rights and causing financial and emotional harm.

The complaint, obtained by People, names 48 defendants, including Williams’ legal guardian, Sabrina Morrissey; Judge Lisa Sokoloff; Wells Fargo; her assisted living facility; and multiple attorneys.

Hunter, who was married to Williams from 1999 to 2020, filed the suit on her behalf and is demanding a jury trial.

“Guardianship is a civil death. In New York, more than 28,000 adults are being abused, neglected and defrauded under the care of court-appointed guardians,” the lawsuit states.

While the filing does not request an end to Williams’ guardianship, it seeks sweeping changes.

Hunter is asking for a new neutral guardian, the unsealing of court records, her release from what he calls “involuntary confinement,” a full forensic audit of her finances, and $250 million in damages for lost income, emotional distress, reputational harm and legal costs.

Hunter claims Williams has lost an estimated $20 million annually since being placed under guardianship, which has prevented her from working.

Williams, once a daytime TV powerhouse with The Wendy Williams Show, has been out of the public eye for years due to health and legal issues.

The couple’s marriage ended in 2020 following reports that Hunter had fathered a child with another woman. Despite their split, Hunter has remained publicly vocal about Williams’ well-being and legal situation.
